Start to focus on what you already have instead of thinking about what is missing! You can be grateful for so many things, but most of all for being alive. Have you ever felt gratitude just for the fact that you are alive? Think about all the things you can be grateful for, notice them every day. Don’t allow the mind to make you take the good things in your life for granted.

Enjoy the present moment, don’t throw it away for the sake of the future. Live your life as if every day was your birthday. Your present is the present moment itself. Your gift is your talent. Imagine a birthday where you receive precious gifts from all of your friends. They prepared these gifts with great care and love and imagined how happy you would be when you open them.

But when you receive your gifts, you throw away all your presents without opening or even looking at them. And in the meantime, you are wishing for more and more presents in the back of your mind. But how could you appreciate them in the future if you cannot appreciate them now?

You would be just wasting your present while being ungrateful and unhappy. You would also disrespect your friends and make them angry at you. When you live according to the mind, you are like a spoilt child who demands more and more toys, and never plays with the old ones.

The truth is that you may be living your life just like this. The only difference is that the universe can never be angry at you. It is like a forgiving mother who loves you no matter what. It keeps on giving you the gift of life every day. When will you open your eyes and be grateful for it?

Your life is not a problem to be solved. It is a gift to be enjoyed. Your task is to make the most out of it, but not by constantly regretting or worrying about things. Use your gifts that were given to you to live a life of expression and creation. Be like a playful child and not a spoilt one.
