The second mistake I see in spiritual people is that they want to use spiritual methods to solve their non-spiritual problems. According to a recent study, most people who do yoga only want better health, and only a few have the goal of spiritual enlightenment. Most people who do meditation only want to reduce the stress in their lives, thus they try to escape their racing minds by suppressing their thoughts. Most people who want to manifest abundance are simply too lazy to put in the hard work, while they don’t want to admit to themselves that they’re greedy.

Now there’s nothing wrong with creating a healthy body, mind, and financial situation, these things are truly important in the physical aspects of life. The problem arises when you’re using these spiritual practices for things and in ways they were not meant for. Don’t use these methods for ego gratification, because the goal of true spirituality is exactly to get rid of the ego.

If you’re into spirituality only to have a better life, you’re missing the point. These practices have so much more potential, and you also have so much more in you. And when you’re doing spirituality for the right reasons, your life will be so much better anyway, without even trying.
