When searching for truth, don’t fall into the trap of chasing some kind of esoteric knowledge! Truth is not hidden, it is right in front of you waiting to be noticed. It is not to be found outside, because it is already inside you. It is not a secret, because you already know it, you simply need to remember.
The word esoteric means inner circle. Traditionally this kind of knowledge was available strictly for the initiated. Those who were prepared for it, those who deserved it. Lately this knowledge became openly available to anyone, the secret is not secret anymore. The inner circle transformed into an open one.
Mind takes you outwards, while no-mind turns you inwards. When you become a spiritual seeker for the very first time, it is just natural that you start out from the mind. You start looking for yourself outside of yourself, and you can only find yourself when you return to yourself. After all, how could you find yourself outside of yourself? You simply have to stop the search, and let your attention and energy flow back to you. You are already yourself at every moment, you simply cannot see it because of the search.
You are already at home, looking outside the window, searching for your home. You want to find it outside, when in fact you are already inside. You will find a thousand other things in the world, except the one thing you are looking for. Looking from the house, everything is outside, except the house itself. At most, you can find a mirror in which you glimpse the reflection of the house, and realize that you have been inside all along. This is what esoteric seekers are secretly hoping for.
This outer circle is a perfect stage for the mind to play its games, and move outside more and more. In esotericism, you always get reflected back with the help of outwardly things. These can be cards, planets, visions, past lives, ufos, angels, demons or gods. You want to use their help for self-discovery.
But this is only possible when you fully complete the circle. You started from yourself, so you have to return to yourself, as well. Sadly, most people don’t complete the circle, and they get stuck outside of themselves.
For many people esoteric knowledge is a spiritual trap, because they never find home. Looking outside the window, you can deduct certain superficial qualities about the house itself. You may feel like you are on the right path, as if knowing yourself more and more, and this calms you.
However, you can see only the facade of the house from outside, you can only discover your personality from that perspective. This knowledge remains superficial until you make the full circle and enter the house itself. Until you only scratch the surface, you won’t know the depths.
In the depths of your being, you won’t find your personality, not even your individuality. Nor any quality or attribute that could describe you. In the infinite abyss you realize that even the outside is inside, that even the circle is a point, that even the world is inside the house. The planets, the gods, the angels and the demons are all inside you.
From then on, astrology has no effect on you, your future cannot be foretold, and your qualities cannot be defined. From then on, you guide the angels, and you scare away the demons. From then on, you will also know that they are your own projections, you create them in your mind. They don’t really exist, that is why you have power over them. You only needed them to guide yourself back to yourself.

Out of curiosity, what if certain texts find you? Literally? What if you already know, but these symbols, these perspectives and experiences might help awaken that understanding even further? This can’t be a coincidence any longer, too many books that all relate and myself having never truly delved into this subject, until I found a book at a thrift shop.
