My mystery school is called Immortology, which means the study of immortality. It is neither atheism nor religion. It is neither belief nor disbelief. It is neither reincarnation nor heaven and hell. It is neither attachment to life nor denial of life. It is neither hedonism nor frugality. It is neither hurry nor laziness.

It is remembering death and remembering deathlessness. It is enjoying life without getting attached to it. It is accepting life and accepting death. It is knowing mortality and knowing immortality. It is dying and being reborn in this life. It is knowing who you are and who you are not. It is the separation of the false from the truth and the merging of opposites.

Before you dismiss immortality as a childish fantasy, I want to make it clear that I’m not speaking about physical immortality at all. Those who promise you that you will be able to live in your body forever are either charlatans or simply don’t know what they’re talking about.

What I refer to is the inherent immortality of your innermost nature. You are already immortal, you just have to realize it. However, simply believing it won’t help. Do you want to just believe you’re immortal, or do you want to truly feel immortal? Because there’s a huge difference. With my methods, you can avoid the former and achieve the latter.

The teachings of Immortology stand closest to those found in Hindu mysticism, namely Advaita Vedanta. Just like that tradition, my mystery school is stating that the ultimate nature of reality is non-duality. But then, what’s the need for yet another method, what makes my approach unique? Well, Immortology is the only mystery school that uses death as a door to the divine.

Again, before you misunderstand me, I don’t mean that you physically have to die to achieve nirvana. In fact, I’m stating just the opposite: that you must achieve total liberation before you die, because the existence of an afterlife is not guaranteed. Therefore, Immortology uses death awareness as its main tool to help you go beyond death itself.

I realize it sounds contradictory at first, because if you are beyond death anyway, then how can you and why would you focus on the fact that you will die? But I can assure you that it’s not contradictory, it’s only counterintuitive. That’s one of the reasons almost nobody has ever used death for spiritual growth. Let me explain it with an analogy.

You see, death is just like gravity, they both affect all of us equally. Death is the great equalizer, because no matter if you’re rich or poor, you’ll be buried in the same ground. Just like this, no matter if you’re young or old, your body is held on the ground thanks to the pull of gravity.

You may think that while gravity is continuous, death is spontaneous, but this is not entirely so. You are dying every moment, you simply don’t realize it. With every breath, you are slowly burning away your body, and it’s just a question of time for your death to become total. When it does, you won’t be able to take another breath. Your life is against death, but in the end, death wins every time.

Similarly, your body is constantly under pressure, your every movement is against gravity. How can we know that something is alive? That it’s moving. But when gravity becomes total, you won’t be able to make even the slightest movement. Your body will ultimately become one with the very Earth that it came from.

But how can we possibly live with this knowledge in mind? Well, most of us can’t, so we deny the fact either by trying to forget about it or creating elaborate fantasies about our escape. But this strategy is worse than nothing, it is actually the best recipe for failure.

Humanity has been dreaming about reaching the stars for millennia. The mystery of space has stirred up our collective fantasies, and we’ve been creating stories, inventing gods and imagining weird creatures out of sheer curiosity. But who are those few who actually got into space? Those, who took gravity seriously, and made it their sole purpose to conquer it.

With death, the situation is just the same. If you want to defeat death, the first thing to do is to take it seriously, to be aware of it instead of denying it. That’s why in the first stage, I am systematically attacking the many ways you deny death: starting from religions, through culture and conventional wisdom, all the way to near-death experiences. My goal is to take away all your beliefs, assumptions and fantasies surrounding this topic.

You can think of death awareness as the fuel for your rocket. When you look up at the sky, it seems impossible that you could ever reach it. Yet this is exactly what the astronauts did, but they required immense focus, motivation and resources. Just like that, if you keep the thought of your impeding death constantly on your mind, you’ll gain enormous motivation to go beyond it, that will also help you on your way upwards.

Just imagine how much power is needed to overcome the force of gravity: just as much as to overcome the power of death. The Earth gives you stability, but it also confines you. The only way to enter space is to leave its gravitational field behind. Just like that, your ego gives you stability, but it also confines you. The only way to enter immortality is to leave its immense pull behind.

Humanity has been dreaming about reaching immortality for millennia. Death is just as mysterious as space, and we similarly created all kinds of made-up stories to comfort us and to explain the unknown. But what I want you to do instead, is to actually go into space, to directly experience what’s beyond death. That will be the second stage on the journey, leaving the gravity of Earth, reaching deathlessness and becoming immortal and free.

But first, you need to collect your fuel, and you will also need a rocket. First, you need the motivation by becoming aware of death, and you will also need the rocket that I built for you. In the Rebirth Academy, my 9 month online course, you will find a 9-step method to travel from death to deathlessness, from Earth to space, from bondage to freedom.
